“EVERYONE YOU KNOW IS FIGHTING A BATTLE YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. BE KIND. ALWAYS ”

ROBIN WILLIAMS

Do you feel like you don't fit in? Feel like your past is affecting your life in the here & now? Experience flashbacks and intrusive memories? Maybe you are struggling with anxiety and stress? You had a recent bereavement, loss of job or relationship? You experience a lack of confidence, self-esteem or support? Maybe you are struggling with your relationship with your family, friends or work colleagues?

When you are going through a difficult and upsetting time, talking therapy can help you deal with it.

Sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger than to relatives or friends. During our sessions I will listen to you and help you find your own answers to problems, without judging you. I will give you time to talk, cry, shout or just think.

Why is talking good for your mental health?

Talking things through helps you to release tension, rather than keeping it inside. Talking about your feelings can help you stay in good mental health and deal with times when you feel troubled. It isn't a sign of weakness. It's part of taking charge of your wellbeing and doing what you can to stay healthy.

ABOUT

ABOUT ME

I'm a qualified Integrative Counselling Psychotherapist and a Certified Trauma Professional. I'm a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy MBACP and an accredited member of The National Counselling & Psychotherapist Society MNCPS (Acc.).

In addition to working in private practice, I am currently a counselling-assessor at the Kingston Women's Centre.

I spent a year counselling at the University of Reading, a year at Richmond Advice & Information on Disability and two years at the Kingston Women's Centre.

Counselling means that we will work together, trying to make sense of what you have been through, what you are experiencing and how this affects you in the present time.

I believe our earliest relationships shape who we are and why we might be struggling with certain things.

Untangling difficult emotions and thoughts can be challenging but we would do this together, in a safe space.

Our relationship would be built on respect, trust and congruence. As a start we will have an initial consultation, this is a good way for you to explore if counselling, and me as your therapist, feels like the right thing for you at this time.

CONSULTATION & FEES

INITIAL CONSULTATION

Initial consultations will be a 50-minute online session. During your first session, I will ask questions to understand what you're struggling with and what brought you to see me. You'll likely talk about some of your past (family history & relationships) and how your symptoms or feelings are manifesting today, and how long they have been showing up. It's perfectly normal to be nervous or anxious before your initial session and I will do my best to answer any questions you might have.

TESTIMONIALS

"I have had a really excellent experience with my therapist Charlotte. I have probably felt more in touch with my issues in the last few months than I have over several years of previous therapy ”
